What is the role?

This role will oversee and guide technical software development projects utilizing the scrum/agile methodology. The Product Owner's responsibilities include working with business units to build epics and user stories, communicating business requirements to internal teams and external development partners, testing and quality assurance, measuring, mentoring and motivating the teams to improve processes, and facilitating meetings and decision-making processes. Product Owners ensure the business values of the product are of the highest value to the organization.

What will be expected of me?
  • Lead dedicated scrum teams as the Product Owner.
  • Providing vision and direction to internal and external agile development teams and stakeholders throughout the project.
  • Create and manage epics, user stories and requirements to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
  • Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on.
  • Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product.
  • Define product vision, road-map and growth opportunities.
  • Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI.
  • Lead the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionalities.
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
  • Research and analyze market, the users, and the roadmap for the product.
  • Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level professionals
  • Other duties as assigned.

What will I bring?

Experience/Education:
  • 6+ years of working experience as a Scrum Product Owner or Business Analyst.
  • Scrum Product Owner certification required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software development technologies, frameworks, SDLC, and quality assurance.
  • Experience leading financial services implementations preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of large project management and using Agile methodologies.

What is the work environment like, and are there physical requirements for this role?
  • Dispersed flexible team environment both on Westerra campus and remote
  • Works primarily at desk

Salary: in addition to the starting annual range of $92,266 - $117,639, this role is also be eligible for Westerra's self-funding reward plan. This plan pays out a cash incentive annually if the company hits specific criteria tied to our financial goals and you will have a direct impact on the outcome of those results!
