40.00Job SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides service to patients in designated care settings, including acute, short and long-term care, by assisting physicians, assessing patients, and treating injuries and ailments. This includes obtaining a thorough medical history from patients, performing examinations, and establishing appropriate diagnoses. The NP collaborates with other healthcare professionals to analyze and interpret information to develop treatment plans, prescribes medications, maintains patient records, consults with specialists, and provides patient education.QualificationsCompletion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice.Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances.Certification as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP-BC), Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (A-GNP), Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP-BC), or Family Nurse Practitioner (NP-C).Demonstrated current competence in providing care and treatment for an adequate volume of patients in the past twelve months or completion of a relevant master’s/post-master’s degree program in the past twelve months.Sanford Health offers an attractive benefits package for qualifying full-time and part-time employees.
