We are seeking a
Senior Estimator
(Heavy Civil/Highway)
for a full-time in-person role in
Draper, UT.
This position is responsible for the estimating of heavy civil infrastructure projects with various scopes of work including but not limited to removals, grading, concrete structures, and related scopes of work. This position will work closely with other estimators, project managers and the Chief Estimator. Attention to detail along with excellent written and verbal communication are required.
Responsibilities
Review project specifications, plans and Geotech Report, attend pre-bid meetings, determine site conditions through a site visit. Determine self-performed scope of work and subcontracted scope of work.
Solicit subcontractors and material supplies including any possible requirements for DBE or SBE’s subcontractors. Develop bid packages for the various subcontractors and materials suppliers’ scopes of work and send out RFQ’s.
Proficiently prepare estimates by performing take-offs, setting up the estimate file and building activities & logic in the Heavy Bid (HCSS) estimating software.
Enter both subcontractor and material supplier quotes in HCSS and make awards.
Conduct bid review with Chief Estimator and Management Team prior to bid day.
Ability to make timely decisions, close-out bids and submit owner/agency bid documents with the direction of the Chief Estimator.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college, technical school or university in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years of heavy civil / roadway estimating experience including removals, grading, concrete structures, aggregate placement, airport runways and related scopes of work or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years of estimating including software like HCCS, Heavy Bid, AGTEK, OST, P6, Excel or equivalent.
Bid2win software experience with bottom-up estimating
Compensation
Base Salary -
USD $110,000 to $150,000
Relocation Assistance Available - Possible for ideal candidate
Competitive pay with up to 20% Annual Bonus

We are looking for a candidate that has bottom-up estimating experience in Heavy Civil or Commercial environment. Please do not apply if you only have experience with residential or small commercial jobs. The projects we bid are minimum of 100 million and go up from there. Experience in building the bid from the very start and building up to finish. Experience with Bid2Win. Looking for someone that has done bidding for highway bridges, highway paving, airports and large multi-level commercial buildings with post tension cabling, water tanks and building water treatment facilities.
