The Product Management team guides the strategy and vision for Disney’s incredible global digital products portfolio - from Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ and the ESPN App to Marvel Unlimited, National Geographic, ABC and ABC News, and film websites and games. This team impacts the way millions of people around the world experience and engage with Disney’s iconic stories and unmatched content in more personalized and immersive ways, leveraging cutting-edge technologies ranging from Machine Learning to Extended Reality.Job SummaryWe are seeking a Sr. Product Manager II for Metadata Distribution to drive the strategy and execution of our internal metadata translation and distribution platform. This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and efficient transformation and dissemination of metadata across various systems, supporting content delivery and ensuring a high-quality user experience for our suite of direct-to-consumer products. This role will sit at a key internal intersection and drive a critical phase of the future of Disney’s DTC infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesDefine and drive the strategy for the metadata translation and distribution platform, aligning it with the overall business objectives and content delivery goals.

Write clear, concise, and comprehensive product requirements for the metadata platform, ensuring they meet the needs of internal stakeholders and support seamless integration between different systems.

Own and prioritize the roadmap for metadata squads, ensuring alignment with the product strategy and timely delivery of high-quality features and enhancements.

Act as the primary liaison with internal partner teams (e.g. engineering, product, operations, data, business) that require content metadata, facilitating effective communication and collaboration to ensure their needs are met.

Oversee the development and implementation of metadata distribution features, coordinating with engineering, design, and QA teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.

Track and analyze the performance of the metadata platform, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Engage with key stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment on project goals and timelines.

Basic QualificationsA minimum of 7+ years of experience in product management or other relevant field required.

Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience.

Strong understanding of metadata translation and distribution technologies, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously, driving alignment and delivering results.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely to various audiences.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams and external partners.

Preferred QualificationsIndustry experience in the streaming or media or entertainment space is a plus.

Working knowledge of media content delivery processes, with a focus on metadata, content management systems, or related fields.

Familiarity with project management practices.

MBA or other relevant advanced degree.

The hiring range for this position in New York, NY and Seattle, WA is $156,300 to $209,600 per year, in Santa Monica, CA and Bristol, CT is $149,300 to $200,200 per year, in San Francisco, CA is $163,500 to $219,200 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
