Join Apple, and help us leave the world better than we found it. The Developer Experience Platform team is looking for an extraordinary Machine Learning Engineer to join our team. You will help design and implement our machine learning strategy to take our developer experience platform to the next level and help accelerate app development inside Apple. We will be collaborating and working with multi-functional teams and applying algorithms to large-scale data.DescriptionThe Developer Experience Platform team provides frameworks, services, and developer tools to internal engineering teams in Apple to accelerate their SDLC. We are working on a Generative AI-based developer experience platform leveraging LLMs for internal use and assisting our app development team. You will work with data scientists, Machine Learning engineers, and Software engineers to deliver an end-to-end AI-enabled solution for this platform. You will evaluate existing and new models, fine-tune them, and come up with use cases to solve business problems.Minimum Qualifications5+ years proven programming skills using standard ML tools such as C/C++, Python, PyTorch, Tensorflow, HuggingFace, etc.Solid understanding of machine learning, deep learning (including LLMs), and natural language processing.Hands-on experience working (training, fine-tuning, optimizing, deploying) with large language models.Hands-on experience applying common machine learning optimization techniques, like quantization and distillation, to reduce resource consumption and/or eliminate latency.Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent.Preferred QualificationsBS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent with Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related field.Preparing and collecting data for training/analysis and ensuring data quality.Experience with vector stores, ranking, and retrieval techniques is a plus.Experience in applying ML techniques in developer productivity is a plus.At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
