We can provide entitlement, development, design, procurement, construction management, project management, expert witness and litigation support services on a variety of building types. Our experienced team have provided these services to successfully deliver various facilities for public school districts, college districts, universities, commercial developers, hospitality owners, multinational CM/PM consultants and other valued clients.

This role is a
full-time position at Los Angeles Unified School District .The responsibilities include supervising design professionals, coordinating the design process, ensuring compliance with functional, budgetary, environmental, and legal requirements, and selecting architectural firms. Effective communication, adherence to project goals, and budget management are essential. Additionally, the candidate should have at least 14 years of professional experience in facilities design or capital project coordination, with 4 years specifically related to educational facilities or similar public agencies.
Job Responsibilities and Duties
Manages, develops, and coordinates the Districts design process for the A&E services to ensure that design plans are within functional program, budgetary, environmental and legal requirementsManages multiple projects, including engineering repair and critical repair, through interaction with Architects, consultants, and District personnel to ensure timely completion of these projectsOversees the building design process to ensure compliance with LAUSDs standards and guidelines for the District by working with design professionals and various District administrators to ensure that new and modernized structures meet both educational and building standards requirementsEstablishes and follows a process to identify and select the architectural firm best suited for each project based on the firms qualifications and ability to meet performance standardsProvides Architects with clear and consistent direction with regard to goals and objectives, standards, sites, schedules, and budgets for each projectEstablishes and follows an effective and efficient design review process to ensure that the design meets the overall goals and objectives for each projectProvides maximum value for dollars budgeted, and are appropriate and enduring to meet the functional needs of the District, the local community, and the environmentReviews design changes submitted to ensure project remains within budgetMonitors project planning and design status to report findings, recommendations and updatesPerforms other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Required Experience:
Minimum 8 years full time paid professional experience managing the facilities design, or the planning and coordination of capital projects that included the overall design, contractadministration, cost estimating, and scheduling activities4 years of this experience must be with the design, planning and construction of educationalfacilities or similar public agencies
Required Education:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelors degree in Architecture or Engineering
Preferred Licenses and Certificates:
A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California State Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
