The Denver District Attorney's Office is responsible for prosecuting all felonies, misdemeanors and serious traffic offenses committed in Denver. The full pay range for this position is $24.11 - $36.17 per hour, based on your experience and education. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but is not limited to:A guaranteed life-long monthly pension, once vested after 5 years of service457B Retirement Plan132 hours of PTO earned within first year11 Paid Holidays per year, plus 1 personal holidayEducation Refund Program (ERP) - a chance for the city to support your continued learning and career growth by investing in your future with the cityCare Bank – 8 weeks of Paid Family Leave (after the probation period is passed)Free RTD Eco PassCompetitive medical, dental and vision plans effective within 1 month of start dateLocationThis position reports on site at the Republic Plaza building located at 370 17th St, Denver, CO 80202, Monday through Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM.What You’ll DoThe Denver District Attorney’s Office is currently seeking a Legal Executive Assistant II to support our Assistant District Attorney.Job duties include:Assist with administrative duties for two Assistant District AttorneysAssists manager with project tracking and completionInformation Management – Prepares, monitors, tracks, updates, reviews, maintains, and edits internal and/or external documents; keeps advised of the current status of the work of the manager and anticipates the manager’s needs by gathering records, reports, correspondence, statistics, or other information; and maintains the manager’s appointment calendar, arranges/coordinates appointments, meetings, conferences, and contacts the appropriate individuals to attendCommunication – Communicates general information with internal staff and external entities; briefs manager on subject matter for upcoming meetings/events; answers telephones, screens calls and visitors, and directs individuals to the proper contact; prioritizes communication efforts of the manager; attends meetings and takes notes for the manager; and prepares presentations for the managerPolicies and Procedures – Maintains, edits, and reviews policies and procedures for grammatical structure and consistency; updates manuals; types, edits, approves, documents, and distributes updates; prepares databases that assist with documentation; revises and recommends procedures or methods to comply with new or revised requirements; and explains, interprets, and implements office policies and procedures to internal and external contactsExpenditure Controls – Monitors, verifies, tracks, and documents expenditures or revenue; prepares budget documents; determines office needs and makes recommendations for supplies and equipment; monitors and tracks resources for operation; and creates and prepares forms and/or other documents to support the manager’s budgetary responsibilityHuman Resources/Supervision – Assists with performance evaluations of agency or department staff by preparing documentation; provides recommendations to manager for performance evaluation of assigned staff; trains new employees in administrative support functions as needed; and delegates assignments to subordinatesPerforms other related duties as assignedWhat You’ll BringOur ideal candidate possesses the following:A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Law, or a related fieldFamiliarity with the criminal justice system and/or law enforcement backgroundProactive and self-motivatedAble to keep information confidential and exercise discretionComfortable with deadlinesExperience collaborating with multiple departments/agenciesAbility to communicate effectively with attorneys, victim advocates, secretarial staff, collateral agencies, and crime victimsExperience in Microsoft Office Suite:MS OutlookMS ExcelMS TeamsOne NotePowerPointPower BIRequired Minimum QualificationsWe realize your time is valuable so please do not apply if you do not have at least the following required minimum qualifications:Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of administrative/secretarial experience which must include one (1) year of experience providing support to a core middle manager.Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.License/Certifications: NoneApplication DeadlineThis position is expected to stay open until Sunday, September 22, 2024.
