Open to external applicants who have not been previously employed by CMC in the last rolling 9 months.This is a full time (0.8 - 1.0 Status), day shift Surgical Tech Resident position in the Surgery Department.The Surgical Services Surgical Technologist Resident, in collaboration with their surgical tech preceptor, collects and prepares all supplies and instrumentation intended to be used on the sterile field. During surgery, the Surgical Tech Resident maintains a sterile field while providing appropriate instrumentation through a combination of knowledge of the intended surgery, individual surgeon preference, and anticipation of the surgeon's needs as the procedure progresses. Non-clinical support includes cleaning and sterilization of instruments, cleaning and proper care of equipment, and provision of a surgical environment which is safe and clean.Minimum Requirements

Associates degree of applied science in Surgical Technology from an accredited Surgical Technology program.Proficient in verbal and written English with excellent telephone and customer service skills.Ability to deal with multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment required.Preferred:Coursework in medical terminology, human anatomy, microbiology, infection control, decontamination, disinfection, instrument assembly and packaging, higher-level sterilization, biological testing, and inventory management and distribution desired.American Heart Association healthcare provider certification.On Call / Weekend:

Weekend call coverage required on a rotating basis.Benefits Summary:

Education

Required:

Associates or better in Applied Science.High School Diploma or GED or better.Experience

Preferred:

1 year:

Sterile processing experience.Coursework in medical terminology, human anatomy, microbiology, infection control, decontamination, disinfection, instrument assembly and packaging, higher-level sterilization, biological testing, and inventory management and distribution desired.Licenses & Certifications
