Overview
Business Development Account Executive is responsible for promoting the company's goods and services, cultivating lasting relationships with new customers, manufacturer representatives, architects and consultants, and factory representatives. This is a key role focused on winning new business and customer retention, identification of potential new customers that lead to profitable growth in support of Singer EVI business objectives. The Business Development Account Executive must have a strong business acumen, be self-motivated with high energy and the ability to interact with numerous individuals, in multiple functions, in a dynamic and changing environment.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and drive sales action plans resulting in increased sales volume. Cultivate relationships with new customers resulting in new business for the company. This will require networking, initiating customer calls, and securing appointments with prospective clients. Identify current market trends to determine how they may leverage and build new business. Work with team to develop and present proposals to prospective customers. Negotiating contracts and closing business deals. Understand and build upon product knowledge to educate and sell to prospect base. This will include participation in learning and training opportunities to continuously build upon customer services, sales knowledge, skills, and abilities. Promote the value proposition of Singer as a partner. Meet routinely with President and Executive Team to discuss opportunities and formulate plans for winning business. Become proficient in reviewing and discussing sales contracts. Travel for company functions, sales meetings, conferences, and training sessions. Increase company visibility through participation in trade shows, company functions, community networking events, and other similar activities. Submit forecasting and status reports for business opportunities. Maintain and submit sales and expense reports per Singer guidelines. Execute all work in accordance with Singer EVI processes and procedures. Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Skills and Abilities
3-5 years sales experience with proven track record of sales success in foodservice equipment High school diploma required; College degree preferred. Strong business acumen Strong relationship building skills with customers, architects, manufacturers and vendors, and other team members involved in the projects. Ability to utilize computer-based programs necessary to complete assigned tasks, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and AutoQuotes Strong listening skills are required to give full attention to what others are saying, taking time to understand the points and requests being made, asking questions as appropriate, and letting others fully state their ideas. Effective interpersonal skills to successfully work with others in the organization. Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail; highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized; timely follow-up. Exceptional work ethic with a focus on achieving goals and targets in a timely and complete manner. Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner. Highly driven and self-motivated; ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team. Foster positive relations and communications with co-workers Read and understand manufacturers cut sheets, drawings and construction drawings and communicate layout and design requirements to others. Basic knowledge of, or ability to learn, general construction, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing Possess integrity and ethical character. Ability to think creatively, critically and solve problems. Excellent customer service attitude Flexible schedule to enable the company to meet customer needs - overtime and weekends may be necessary and required. This position requires frequent travel.
