Director Business Development and Partnerships

Circle K is a leader in the convenience store space and has built a network of 17,500 stores worldwide primarily through acquisitions and new to industry builds. We are looking to broaden our pathways for investment by adding Business Development and Partner Specialist capabilities to our team. This position is charged with identifying and originating new investment opportunities across several segments of our business. Led by the company’s overall strategy, this position will lead all aspects of opportunity development and/or partnerships, from initial identification and screening to origination business case development, post-closing management and monitoring. As such, the position is a critical interface between several functional areas within Circle K including Operations, Legal, Finance and senior management.

The role will report to the Senior Vice President, Real Estate and Fuel Customer.

Key Responsibilities:

Identify, develop, and execute value-led partnerships to drive new customer acquisition and reward current customers through cross-promotional offers.

Leverage our position as a market leader to establish and nurture strategic partnerships that align with our business goals and enhance our competitive edge.

Analyze industry trends and competitor activities to ensure our partnership strategies are innovative and effective.

Collaborate with internal teams to integrate partnership activities seamlessly into our broader business strategy.

Build and leverage a network of referral sources in the retail industry including car wash, traditional and emerging convenience, e-mobility, cannabis amongst others.

Assist in the preparation and development of business models, risk identification, industry research, valuation assessment, and development of investment narrative for formal presentation to the Investment Committee.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or a related field.

3 – 5 years proven experience in business development, partnerships, or a similar role.

Strong analytical skills and the ability to think strategically about opportunities and challenges.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively across different departments and with external partners.

Proven ability to initiate, manage and close multiple high priority projects.
