The County of Sonoma Human Services Department (HSD)

seeks a talented Human Resources (HR) professional to join their team!Starting salary up to $43.35/hour ($90,476/year) plus a competitive total compensation package!*The Human Services HR Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the department on all HSD recruitment and hiring needs, including serving as an HR subject matter expert for managers, supervisors, and employees. They will provide direct support on employee medical needs, including explaining rules, regulations, and policies to departmental staff ensuring continuity of operations throughout the department. Additional responsibilities include:Serving as a liaison for managers, supervisors, and other county departments to ensure HR processes are running smoothly and efficientlyWorking with central HR to draft and finalize HSD job announcementsSupporting the department on position control requests and personnel reportingCollaborating with central HR and HSD divisions to identify and implement timely selection processesAnalyzing department personnel trendsWorking closely with current staff and management on HR-related mattersResearching and reviewing applicable State/Federal regulations, HR/Safety policies and procedures, Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), and the Salary Resolution to assist with responding to departmental inquiriesDrafting, reviewing, and updating documents such as requisitions, emails, interview questions, department organizational charts, medical leave and accommodation approvals/denials, and general policies/proceduresThe ideal candidate will be a creative thinker who is flexible and empathetic, and possesses many of the following:Experience working on recruitments and employee medical requestsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience researching, tracking, analyzing, and interpreting data and drafting policies and proceduresExcellent organizational skills, including the ability to follow complex policies and procedures while addressing competing deadlinesSuperb customer service skillsThe proven ability to establish credibility and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external contacts across all organizational levelsKnowledge of database systems and proficient skills in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat DCAbout the Human Services Department (HSD)
