Sentara is currently hiring a Patient Care Technician to work at Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, located in Virginia Beach, on the Medicine Unit 6.Hours/Shift:Full-time, nightshift, 7pm to 7amDepartment/Position Overview:Our patient population in our 20-bed unit is divers and includes but is not limited to CHF, Sickle Cell, Renal Failure, Diabetes, Vascular, Sepsis, COPD, Pneumonia, Osteomyelitis with Surgical Intervention, Wound Care, and varying disease processes.As a
Patient Care Technician
with Sentara, you will have the opportunity to learn many new skills. From taking vitals to blood draws and daily care. The primary duties of this position include supporting the admission/discharge process, changing, bathing ambulating patients, drawing blood, foley catheter care, meeting patient needs while working under the direct supervision of a nurse. Patient Care Technician
with Sentara.Minimum Requirements:One year of prior health care experience preferred.American Health Associate BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.High School Diploma or Equivalent
and one of the following
Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, orSuccessful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), orNational Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), orNational Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), orCompletion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, orEmergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic, orCurrent student enrolled in a clinical program (beyond prerequisites) having completed at least one semester of RN, LPN, RT or PT, orCurrent work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.
