Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sr. Estimator to join our growing team in the construction industry. This role is integral to our business, as you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive estimates that will directly impact our projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost management, budgeting, and cost analysis. If you are a detail-oriented professional with a knack for numbers and a passion for construction, we want to hear from you. You will be required to have a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for all cost components.
2. Utilize expertise in cost management, budgeting, and cost analysis to accurately project the cost of upcoming projects.
3. Evaluate and consider cost-saving measures, potential project risks, and the impact of various project strategies.
4. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects during the estimating process.
5. Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
6. Participate in presentations to corporate management and clients.
7. Maintain a comprehensive cost estimating database to be used as a benchmark for future projects.
8. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology to enhance cost estimating procedures.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating.
3. Proficient in cost management, budgeting, and cost analysis.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
6. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
8. Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite (Word, Excel and Outlook), estimating software.
9. Strong attention to detail and the ability to make sound financial decisions.
10. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
11. A proactive approach to tackling problems and taking on new tasks.
