We are recruiting for an exciting and challenging role of Permanent Senior Superintendent-Ground Up Detention Center. This role is perfect for those who have a passion for the construction industry and a strong background in the development of correctional facilities and prisons. As a Senior Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction of a state-of-the-art detention center from the ground up. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your skills and expertise to make a significant impact on a large-scale project and contribute to public safety infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and direct all aspects of the construction project from conception to completion.
  2. Review and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to perform tasks at hand.
  3. Coordinate a team of construction workers, ensuring that each stage of the project is being carried out according to plan and on schedule.
  4. Ensure all safety protocols are adhered to, providing a safe and secure environment for all workers.
  5. Conduct regular site inspections and monitor construction progress.
  6. Coordinate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and local government officials.
  7. Manage budgeting, scheduling, and other managerial aspects of construction.
  8. Resolve any problems that may arise and ensure the project stays within budget and on schedule.
  9. Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications.
  10. Prepare and deliver progress reports to senior management and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory role within the construction industry, specifically in the development of correctional facilities or prisons.
  3. Proven track record of successfully overseeing large-scale construction projects from start to finish.
  4. Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  5. Ability to read, interpret, and create blueprints and technical drawings.
  6. Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage and coordinate a large team.
  7. Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent decision-making skills.
  8. Solid understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  9. Familiarity with construction/ project management software.
  10. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  11. PMP or equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
  12. Must possess a valid driver's license.
