Responsibilities

As a Insurance Defense Associate, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing a diverse caseload of premises liability claims, including conducting investigations, preparing legal documents, and representing clients in court and before quasi-judicial or administrative agencies of government.
  2. Interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  3. Conducting legal research and gathering evidence.
  4. Ensuring the implementation of insurance carrier’s litigation guidelines.
  5. Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients in premises liability cases.
  6. Collaborating with a team of legal professionals to develop defense strategies.
  7. Providing legal advice to clients and making recommendations for case management.
  8. Staying current with developments in the law and informing clients of changes that may affect their case.

Qualifications

The successful candidate for the Permanent Insurance Defense Associate position will possess the following qualifications:

  1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, with a focus on insurance defense and premises liability.
  3. Admission to the state bar.
  4. Exceptional research and writing skills.
  5. Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  6. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  8. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  9. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.
  10. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
