We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dedicated team in the manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position that offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a seasoned professional to leverage their expertise in financial management and accounting. The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the daily operations of our accounting department.
Responsibilities:
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
- Maintain and control the General Ledger accounts and business transactions, applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) that includes analytical work and thorough review of financial records.
- Assist with the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, conducting variance analysis to understand trends and make recommendations.
- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, credit memos, and payment transactions.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all monthly financial information.
- Prepare and review monthly bank statements, reconciling any discrepancies or inaccuracies.
- Develop and implement effective accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with external auditors, providing all required information and facilitating audits.
- Prepare and present financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, detailing the company's financial status.
- Provide insightful information and expectations to the company's leadership to aid in long-term and short-term decision making.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), corporate finance, and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize workload, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management and staff.
- High level of integrity, with the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
