Salary: $130,000 - $180,000 per year

Job Details:

We are currently seeking a Design Manager to join our Heavy Civil Construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction and a passion for design and project management. This position requires a deep understanding of the construction process, design regulations, and engineering principles. The Design Manager will play a vital role in managing design-build projects, from conceptual design through construction drawings, ensuring project success and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage and oversee all aspects of design-build projects, including project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
2. Collaborate with project teams to develop innovative and cost-effective design solutions that meet client needs and comply with design regulations.
3. Utilize advanced design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM to create detailed construction drawings and plans.
4. Lead the pursuit and proposal process, including identifying new project opportunities, developing pursuit strategies, and preparing compelling proposals.
5. Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy, consistency, and quality.
6. Supervise and mentor design team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
7. Monitor project progress, proactively identifying and resolving any design or construction issues that may arise.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and regulations, applying this knowledge to improve design processes and outcomes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on design management.
3. Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.
4. Solid knowledge of design regulations, construction process, and engineering principles.
5. Proven experience in pursuit and proposal development.
6. Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully managing design-build projects.
7. Familiarity with heavy civil and heavy highway construction.
8. Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
10. Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
