We are currently seeking a highly qualified Trust and Estate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated individual to apply their skills in a rewarding and challenging environment. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal counsel and support on a broad range of trust and estate matters. With a focus on high net worth individuals, the role includes managing conservatorships, probate administration, and tax planning. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities:

As a Trust and Estate Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Providing sophisticated tax planning and estate administration services to high net worth individuals and families.
  2. Preparing and reviewing legal documents related to estate planning, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives.
  3. Advising clients on tax implications related to estate planning and wealth transfer, including gift tax, estate tax, and generation-skipping transfer tax.
  4. Representing clients in probate court proceedings, conservatorships, and trust litigations.
  5. Collaborating with financial advisors, accountants, and other attorneys to develop comprehensive estate plans.
  6. Keeping up-to-date with changes in tax and trust laws to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice to clients.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Trust and Estate Attorney position should possess the following qualifications:

  1. A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  2. An LLM in Tax is strongly preferred.
  3. A minimum of 5 years of experience in trusts and estates law, with a focus on high net worth individuals.
  4. Extensive knowledge of probate administration, conservatorships, and tax planning.
  5. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals.
  8. A high level of discretion and confidentiality for handling sensitive information.
  9. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
