NURSE PRACTITIONER / PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT
Schedule: M-F, 3 12s, Day Shift
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our client's Oncology/Stem Cell team. This is a full-time, permanent position that offers an unparalleled opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art medical facility, providing exceptional care for patients undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplant and cellular therapy. The NP/PA will work closely with the interdisciplinary team of oncologists, hematologists, and other medical professionals, contributing to the development and implementation of innovative treatment plans.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to oncology patients undergoing stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
- Perform bone marrow aspirations and biopsies, administer chemotherapy and other therapeutic agents, manage infusion reactions, and provide post-transplant care.
- Educate patients and their families about disease process, treatment options, potential side effects, and available resources.
- Participate in clinical research, contribute to the development of best practice guidelines, and stay abreast of the latest advancements in oncology and stem cell transplantation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient care.
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctorate from an accredited NP program OR Completion of an approved Physician Assistant program
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
- Experience in Oncology is a must (will consider new grads), with specific experience in allogeneic stem cell transplantation, cellular therapy, infusion, and/or bone marrow transplant.
- Excellent clinical skills with the ability to perform procedures such as bone marrow aspiration and biopsy.
- Strong knowledge of chemotherapy agents, potential side effects, and management of infusion reactions.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and medical software.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information to patients and their families.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations with empathy and professionalism.
