An established services company is looking to hire an Accounting Director. This person will oversee all accounting operations and a large team of other accounting professionals to ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual accounting activities are completed.

Job Details:

Our organization is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Permanent Director of Accounting. The successful candidate will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for overseeing all accounting functions within our engineering company. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing organization and contribute your expertise in Year End Close, payroll, management, and accounting processes.

Responsibilities:

As the Permanent Director of Accounting, you will:

1. Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
3. Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
4. Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
5. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
6. Support month-end and year-end close process.
7. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
8. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
9. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
10. Liaise with our CFO and executive team to make viable financial decisions for the company.
11. Oversee payroll processes and ensure timely and accurate payroll delivery.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Permanent Director of Accounting role, candidates must possess:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
2. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation is preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role in an accounting or financial department.
4. In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong experience in managing the year-end close process.
6. Proven experience in payroll management.
7. Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial procedures.
8. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
9. Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
10. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
11. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced knowledge of accounting software.
12. Experience in the engineering industry is preferred, but not required.
