Job Details

Primary Responsibilities

This position reports to the Cast House Engineering Leader and has the overall accountability for the safe and efficient operation of the cast house combustions system.

Key Objectives:

  • Combustion safety expert for the Casting facility.
  • Drive the implementation and development of thermal Best Practices
  • Create and track proactive measures to ensure stable furnace performance.
  • Ensure furnaces are running efficiently to maximize melt rate and minimize costs.
  • Evaluate new technologies to help improve the GHG emissions to meet decarbonization strategy.
  • Solve equipment and process problems for Thermal Processes.
  • Drive resolution of chronic problems within area of expertise; Lead problem solving teams & organize support from other resources when necessary.
  • Maintain a working relationship with vendors of thermal and combustion equipment and be knowledgeable of external developments.
  • Provide engineering and operational support for large capital improvement projects.
  • Navigate Rockwell PLC's for troubleshooting.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • 7 years of manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 5 years in Thermal and Combustion Safety
