Job Details

The practice is all MD doing hands on, with the exception of 1 CRNA covering OB during the DAY on Mon-Fri. MDs in General are on a rotation for IN-HOUSE call with post call day off (not paid). There are 7 MDs daily with one off post call. We have been getting traction with coverage here for perms, but are working through some non-compete issues and will likely not be able to start everyone right away, so we’ll need coverage for locums.

We also have a daily slot for a person who is CARDIAC CAPABLE. They have very little Cardiac volume (roughly 115 cases of Cardiac/Thoracic/Vascular combined with only half of those as true cardiac cases) but we have to have someone that is willing to do 70-80% General and 20-30% Cardiac. They are on a back up call every night for General and Cardiac. Currently they’re covering that with two Cardiac docs working every other week. I basically just need coverage because neither of those two are going to be staying. The Cardiac need is the most urgent and the most “solid” for a long term opening. Fellowship is NOT required.

The model is 6 MDs in General, 1 in CV (and one CRNA in OB 7a-3p).

We need: General MD Coverage (CALL IS REQUIRED) starting August 26th and open ended

We need: Cardiac MD Coverage (call daily) starting August 26th and open ended

They use PAPER in the OR – but the hospital is on Cerner so they will have remote online training available for when staff is on the floor in OB, etc.

Special Skill Emphasis:

?Familiarity with basics with ortho blocks, obstetric anesthesia

?Double lumens (robots: Monarch/Da Vinici) – Thoracic Surgeon

?Bread and butter blocks

?No tap blocks for OB

?Rare pediatrics

?Healthy patients (interesting varied and benign case mix); Great rapport with nurses and surgeons; ASA1 patients

?Very few patients at night; low OB patient volume (350 cases annually) – CRNA covers OB during the day

The hospital has 24/7 Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Hospitalist, Pediatrician
