We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Permanent Field Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute their expertise in the construction industry and play a pivotal role in our ongoing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various types of surveys, including residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys. This role requires a strong understanding of basic computations and cutsheets. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in the field and will be well-versed in modern surveying techniques and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct detailed field surveys, including residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
  2. Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports of legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
  3. Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
  4. Conduct research in surveying and mapping methods, using knowledge of techniques of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing.
  5. Coordinate findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with the project.
  6. Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy.
  7. Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering instruments.
  8. Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas, using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
  9. Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in surveying, engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a field surveyor, preferably in the construction industry.
  3. Extensive knowledge of residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
  4. Proficiency in basic computations and cutsheets.
  5. Strong understanding of modern surveying techniques and technologies.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot inaccuracies or inconsistencies in data.
  7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
  9. Proficiency in using GPS devices, theodolites, levels, and other surveying instruments.
  10. Ability to train and guide team members in surveying techniques and procedures.
  11. Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various sites as needed.
