We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Permanent Field Surveyor to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute their expertise in the construction industry and play a pivotal role in our ongoing projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting various types of surveys, including residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys. This role requires a strong understanding of basic computations and cutsheets. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in the field and will be well-versed in modern surveying techniques and technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed field surveys, including residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
- Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports of legal descriptions of surveys to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
- Conduct research in surveying and mapping methods, using knowledge of techniques of photogrammetric map compilation and electronic data processing.
- Coordinate findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with the project.
- Adjust surveying instruments to maintain their accuracy.
- Establish fixed points for use in making maps, using geodetic and engineering instruments.
- Determine longitudes and latitudes of important features and boundaries in survey areas, using theodolites, transits, levels, and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).
- Train assistants and helpers, and direct their work in such activities as performing surveys or drafting maps.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying, engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a field surveyor, preferably in the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of residential infrastructure stakeouts, site as-builts, boundary surveys, and ALTA surveys.
- Proficiency in basic computations and cutsheets.
- Strong understanding of modern surveying techniques and technologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to spot inaccuracies or inconsistencies in data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Proficiency in using GPS devices, theodolites, levels, and other surveying instruments.
- Ability to train and guide team members in surveying techniques and procedures.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to various sites as needed.
