Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Provide accurate and timely financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial trends.

Conduct thorough financial analysis to support business decisions and identify areas for improvement.

Provide insights into cost optimization and revenue enhancement opportunities.

Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reports.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Develop and manage the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads.

Provide accurate and timely financial forecasts to guide executive decision-making.

Cash Management:

Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure optimal liquidity for operational needs.

Implement effective cash management strategies to support business objectives.

Accounting Operations:

Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Implement and maintain internal controls to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.

Audit and Compliance:

Although there are no current audit requirements, it is expected that some of our entities will require audits in the future. The Controller role will oversee these audits.

What You Need To Succeed:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).

8+ years of experience in accounting or finance with at least 5 years in a management role.

Previous experience in real estate, private equity, or a related industry is strongly preferred.

Strong knowledge of real estate financial principles, regulations, and practices preferred.

Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficient in using accounting software, financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Advanced Excel skills are required.

Experience with real estate management software is a plus (AppFolio, Yardi, etc.).

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
