We're seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Tax Manager to join our fast-paced finance team. This is a unique opportunity to play a crucial role in our company's financial operations and strategy. You will be responsible for managing and facilitating the accurate preparation and filing of our company's state and federal tax forms. The successful candidate will be involved in both direct and indirect taxation and must be well-versed in tax regulations and law.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns and ensure timely submission.
  2. Develop tax strategies to optimize business practices and ensure compliance with taxation legislation.
  3. Conduct regular tax audits and prepare for external audits by coordinating with auditors and managing the audit process.
  4. Provide innovative tax planning and review complex income tax returns.
  5. Identify and mitigate tax risks.
  6. Coordinate accounting staff and manage tax provision and tax compliance process.
  7. Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.
  8. Manage and coordinate tax audits.
  9. Maintain tax balances on general ledger.
  10. Prepare all tax papers on a regular basis and handle all information data requests.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or CPA certification will be an added advantage.
  2. Minimum of five years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role.
  3. Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
  4. Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  5. Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
  6. Strong ability to utilize and leverage financial and tax software.
  7. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  8. Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  10. High level of integrity, intensity, and involvement in fulfilling work.
  11. Proficient in MS Office and good knowledge of relevant software (e.g. TurboTax) and databases.
