Job Details:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance professional who is not afraid to challenge the status quo, loves solving problems and can effectively communicate financial information to non-financial associates. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial consultation and strategic support to senior management including preparing financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis and other projects requested by senior management. This role will also conduct audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform account reconciliations and analyses, prepares budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.
- Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the CEO/President, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a finance role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, account reconciliation, budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to individuals without a financial background.
- Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with accounting software and experience in selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; advanced knowledge of QuickBooks.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
