We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Staff Accountant to join our fast-paced finance team. This is a tremendous opportunity for a finance professional who is not afraid to challenge the status quo, loves solving problems and can effectively communicate financial information to non-financial associates. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial consultation and strategic support to senior management including preparing financial presentations, capital expenditure analysis, industry/peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis and other projects requested by senior management. This role will also conduct audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP.
  2. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
  3. Perform account reconciliations and analyses, prepares budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  4. Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  5. Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
  6. Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.
  7. Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the CEO/President, the Board and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
  8. Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
  9. Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  2. 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a finance role.
  3. Strong understanding of GAAP, account reconciliation, budgeting, financial reporting, and auditing.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to individuals without a financial background.
  5. Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  6. Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively and delegate.
  7. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software; advanced Excel skills.
  8. Experience with accounting software and experience in selecting and overseeing software installations and managing relationships with software vendors; advanced knowledge of QuickBooks.
  9. High attention to detail and accuracy.
  10. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
