Salary: $100,000 - $150,000 per year

A bit about us:

Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team of construction professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects ranging from $5 million to $20 million in value.

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents to identify scope of work and required resources
  • Conduct quantitative takeoffs and pricing for all trades including concrete, masonry, steel, carpentry, finishes, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing
  • Solicit pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, evaluate bids, and negotiate costs
  • Develop detailed cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs
  • Identify potential risks, constructability issues, and value engineering opportunities
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other team members to ensure accurate and competitive bid pricing
  • Prepare and submit bid proposals, including estimates, clarifications, and alternates
  • Continuously update and maintain estimating database and historical cost records
  • Assist in buyout process and subcontractor/vendor negotiations for awarded projects
Job Details

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial construction estimating experience
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, WinEst, Timberline, etc.)
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
  • Knowledge of local labor rates, material costs, and market conditions
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, specifications, and bid documents
