Salary: $75,000 - $95,000 per year

We have partnered with a Top 200 public accounting firm looking to hire Senior Accountants to perform outsourced accounting services to state and local government entities.

This is the perfect position for someone who has worked as an accountant for a government body, but would like the perks and flexibility that come with working at a public accounting firm. Or someone who has experience auditing government clients and would like to do more in-the-weeds accounting work!

This position has the flexibility to work from home, in the office, or a hybrid of the two - wherever you work best!

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial data for city management, state, and county regulators, and auditors.
  • Generate and assess monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Lead and collaborate on the annual budget planning process.
  • Manage financial data, records, and reports in line with guidelines, procedures, and regulations.
  • Oversee year-end audit preparation and financial statement development.
  • Drive long-term planning initiatives.
  • Refine and enhance reporting processes.
  • Engage and communicate with all levels of client leadership.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Provide financial analysis for special projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or an equivalent field
  • Proficiency in governmental accounting or audit processes.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
