Overview:

  • Join our prestigious law firm specializing in intellectual property law as a Patent Prosecution Attorney.
  • Focus on drafting and prosecuting patent applications for computer hardware, software, and electronics inventions.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel on patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO and international patent offices.
  • Advise clients on patent matters and develop prosecution strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Manage patent portfolios, conduct portfolio analysis, and optimize patent protection strategies.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and technical experts to understand inventions and assess patentability.
  • Conduct prior art searches and analyze technical documents to support patentability assessments.
  • Draft legal opinions, memoranda, and correspondence related to patent prosecution and IP matters.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews of patents and intellectual property assets for transactions.

Qualifications:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school; USPTO admission required.
  • 8+ years of experience in patent prosecution, focusing on computer hardware, software, and electronics.
  • Strong technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage a large patent prosecution docket effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Experience with patent litigation and/or licensing.
  • Prior experience in an IP law firm.
