Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Tax Manager to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to make a significant impact on our organization's financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and monitoring all tax-related functions, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations and apply this knowledge in innovative ways to optimize our organization's tax position. This role will report directly to the Director of Finance and will be a key player in the financial leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and manage the organization's tax planning, compliance, and reporting to ensure adherence to all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  2. Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax savings.
  3. Coordinate and manage tax audits and inquiries by governmental agencies.
  4. Prepare and review tax returns and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide tax advice and guidance on business decisions and transactions.
  6. Stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate the potential impact on the organization to senior leadership.
  7. Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities to the tax team.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a related field is preferred.
  2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  3. A minimum of 3 years in public accounting.
  4. Proven experience in managing tax planning, compliance, and reporting for a large organization.
  5. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  6. Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  7. Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
  8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax information to non-tax professionals.
  9. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  10. Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in preparing and reviewing tax returns and related documentation.
