Join our dynamic nonprofit team as a Permanent Attorney! We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced attorney to provide legal counsel and guidance for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate governance, corporate securities, and lobbying. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your legal expertise in a mission-driven environment. The Permanent Attorney will play a crucial role in advising on legal matters, ensuring compliance, and advocating for our organization's interests.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance on a variety of issues, including corporate governance, corporate securities, and lobbying activities.
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
- Represent the organization in legal proceedings, if necessary.
- Develop and implement legal strategies and policies to protect the organization's interests.
- Coordinate with outside counsel, as needed.
- Stay updated on current legislation and legal trends that may impact the organization.
- Provide training and guidance to the organization on legal matters.
- Participate in the decision-making process of the organization, providing legal insights and perspectives.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Must be a member in good standing with the state bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
- Proven experience in corporate governance, corporate securities, and lobbying.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of laws and regulations related to nonprofits.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- High ethical standards and professionalism.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
