The approximate base compensation range is posted, but the actual offer will reflect our total compensation and benefits package. The offer will be determined by a number of factors including the selected candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, FTE, number of months worked, as well as internal equity among our team.

Position Summary:

The Director of Human Resources will provide strategic leadership and direction to the Human Resources (HR) department. This role is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company's overall business objectives. The Director will oversee all HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, labor relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

Develop and execute HR strategies that support the company's goals and enhance organizational performance.

Advise the executive team on HR-related matters and provide insights on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development.

Ensure compliance with all regulations where we have employees (currently 31 states).

Talent Acquisition and Management:

Oversee the recruitment and selection process to attract, retain, and develop top talent.

Implement effective onboarding programs and ensure a smooth integration of new hires into the company.

Develop and implement stay and/or exit interviews.

Employee and Labor Relations:

Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement and satisfaction.

Address and resolve employee and union issues, grievances, and conflicts in a timely and effective manner.

Participate in union negotiations, including proposal recommendations and costing of proposals during negotiations.

Manage labor management committees.

Performance Management:

Oversee design and implementation of performance management systems that drive employee productivity and development.

Ensure regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and feedback to employees.

Compensation and Benefits:

Oversee development of competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain talent.

Conduct regular reviews of compensation structures and ensure alignment with industry standards.

Serve as the retirement plan sponsor and ensure audit and compliance.

Training and Development:

Create and oversee employee training and development programs to enhance skills and career growth.

Identify and address skill gaps within the organization.

Develop and implement a mentor program.

Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support compliance and best practices.

Oversee audit and compliance processes.

Organizational Development:

Lead initiatives to enhance organizational culture and employee engagement.

Implement change management strategies to support business transformations and growth.

Develop and update HR policies and handbooks.

Manage department projects and internet/intranet updates.

Promote and integrate the company’s mission and values into all HR initiatives.

Supervise and manage the HR staff within the department.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or other relevant HR certification is highly desirable.

Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Proven track record of developing and implementing HR strategies that align with business objectives.

Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
