We are seeking a Junior Microscopy Specialist to support our expansion microscopy efforts, focusing on light sheet microscopy imaging of expanded brain tissue. The ideal candidate will have significant hands-on experience performing microscopy. This is a full-time, in-person position based in the Bay Area.Responsibilities
Operate light sheet microscopes to acquire high-resolution 3D images of biological samples.
Analyze and process microscopy data, ensuring high-quality results for downstream analysis.
Troubleshoot imaging issues and perform routine maintenance on microscopy equipment.
Collaborate closely with the research team to refine imaging protocols.
Document experimental procedures, results, and analyses thoroughly.
Skills and Qualifications
2+ years of experience performing microscopy, ideally including hands-on experience collecting and analyzing light sheet microscopy data.
Strong understanding of image processing and analysis software (e.g., Fiji, Imaris, or similar).
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced research environment.
