Chief Development OfficerBoston, MAOnsitePosition OverviewBe a part of a nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness and providing support in its local area. As the Chief Development Officer, you will be responsible for developing a yearly fundraising plan while overseeing a five-person Development team.ResponsibilitiesCreate an annual revenue plan and long-term growth strategyAct as chief fundraiser, deepening current donor gifts and building multi-level enterprise relationships with corporate partnersProvide Development updates at all Board of Directors meetings, and work closely with the board on their giving and fundraising strategiesSet strategy and oversee organization’s donor-facing eventsContribute to the development and execution of organizational strategy as an integral member of the senior leadership teamOversee a team including two direct reportsReinforce the team’s donor-centric cultureManage the department's budget and effectively communicate budget decisions and parameters with team membersSet clear benchmarks for the team and regularly reflect on progress through data tracking and analysisCollaborate with the CFO and finance team on a regular basisEnsure data and giving integrity, gift operations and recordsRemain current on funding sources and trendsImplement a robust stewardship program aimed at cultivating deeper ties with donorsCreate efficient and effective processes for Development OperationsHost 1,000+ volunteers annually in an array of activitiesRaise awareness and brand recognition through robust marketing effortsManage external consultants and vendors who work closely with the external relations teamCollaborate with program, real estate, and data teams to source and honor client progress/dataMaintain up-to-date and consistent messaging in all materials/outletsQualificationsBachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred10+ years of professional experience with a successful track record in non-profit fundraising across a variety of revenue streamsExperience in closing multi-year commitments and catalyst gifts at the $100K+ levelTangible experience of having created/implemented an annual strategic development planStrong critical and reflective thinking with the ability to make strategic and data-driven decisionsExperience building and leading teams and guiding team members' growth and developmentExperience leading or collaborating with a Board of DirectorsFlexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiativesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skills with strong attention to detailAbility to work efficiently and effectively to balance management and execution of short- and long-term projectsCompensationSalary: $200,000 - $210,000Medical, Dental, and Vision insurancePet insuranceLife and Disability InsuranceCommuter benefit program9 paid holidays, 20 days of PTO, 12 sick daysEmployer-sponsored retirement program
