Job Description
We are now hiring a full-time FedEx Lead Driver (Assistant BC/Operations Manager) in the Asheville, NC area!
This role requires effectively leading a team of drivers with another manager. We operate up to 6 package delivery routes from a single terminal serving the suburbs of Asheville, in challenging, mountainous territory. The right candidate will be adaptable with a strong work ethic, confidence, ownership mentality, and excellent communication skills.
**This is not a Monday-Friday, 9 AM-5 PM position. It will require some days with long hours and occasional Saturday work, but it will also be flexible when circumstances allow it.
Schedule & Benefits:
$1000-1100 weekly pay5 day per week schedule; typically Monday - Friday, some Saturdays requiredHealth insurance with partial employer contributionPaid holidaysPTOManager Requirements:
Must be 21 years of age or older (for insurance purposes)Must have a valid driver's licenseMust be willing to submit to a background checkMust be able to pass a drug test and DOT physical (both paid for by FedEx)Spanish language proficiency preferred but not requiredPhysically willing, ready, and able to drive a P-1000 sized vehicle (Large Step Van) and safely deliver packages to both residential and commercial recipientsPrevious FedEx experience strongly preferred
, experience with UPS, Amazon or other logistics providers a plusCandidates with a military background are encouraged to apply!Responsibilities:
Work to ensure all daily P&D routes are staffed, trucks are operational, and routes are generating sufficient revenueStep in to drive routes as neededRecord and report timesheets for payrollAssist in recruiting, onboarding and training of new driversMaintain efficient delivery routes in DRO (dynamic route optimization) system - experience strongly preferredCoordinate and schedule maintenance and repairs on equipment to avoid breakdowns (mechanical knowledge is a major plus!)Ensure Driver compliance with daily duties regarding paperwork, Hours of Service compliance, Pre-Trip/Post-Trip inspectionComplete FedEx-related paperwork including disputes, complaints, missing packages, etc.Promote a culture of safety and ensure drivers complete all safety trainingBuild a trusting and professional relationship with FXG Staff to ensure successful operation of the business.
