In this Silver Spring, MD or RTP, NC office located hybrid role, the Senior Employee Relations/HR Partner will serve as the primary support for assigned business group(s) to administer employment life cycle activities, such as onboarding, offboarding and performance management and will provide consultative guidance and coaching to the business and leaders on strategic HR planning. This role will also manage assigned employee relations activities, including escalated workplace investigations, complex leave cases, workers' compensation, ADAAA and FMLA cases, conflict mediation, and HR compliance training.Serve as primary point of contact for leaders and employees for assigned business group(s); serve as a strategic partner and advisor across HR disciplines, including employee relations, talent management and employee developmentProvide consultative guidance and coaching to improve and drive individual and team performance; Partner with managers on performance improvement plans and monitoring of progress; provide guidance and direction on corrective actionsDevelop strategies and partner with leaders to inspire performance and build employee capabilities through employee career pathing and individual and team development planningAdminister employment life cycle activities for assigned business units, including new hire onboarding and offboardingManage and respond to employee complaints and concerns; conduct internal investigations, while ensuring compliance with applicable Company policy and federal, state, and local statutesProvide guidance, support, and recommendations for the resolution of complex employee relations activitiesProvide conflict resolution guidance and direction to managers, employees and teams; facilitate discussions and bring issues to resolution, as needed, through mediated discussionsProvide consultative guidance and advise and coach managers on employee relations issues as well and engagement practices and strategiesTrack, report, and make recommendations regarding employee relations trends and provide recommendations to reinforce a positive and productive work environmentPartner and liaise with HR Business Partners and leaders as well as internal counsel as needed on employee relations and related mattersContribute to and/or lead HR projects, including process improvements and employee engagement initiativesContribute to and develop and maintain HR procedural documentation with a focus on continual process improvement where applicableMake recommendations and contribute to the development and enhancements for HR policies and proceduresPerform other duties assignedFor this role you will need

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree8+ years of progressive HR professional experience6+ years of direct employee relations experienceStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsStrong understanding and knowledge of employment law, both state and federal, including but not limited to the ADAAA, FMLA, EEO, FLSAAbility to work independently, managing a heavy workload within established timeframesAbility to analyze and navigate complex and ambiguous situationsProven ability to provide solutions to challenging employee issues and situations, while promoting a productive and harmonious work environmentAbility to establish relationships while maintaining a neutral and unbiased stanceAbility to use sound judgment, use discretion and escalate issues when appropriateStrong conflict resolution skillsAbility to influence without authorityAbility to write and recommend policy and proceduresPreferred Qualifications
