We have an exciting opportunity for a
Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Component Lead
on one of our premier classified programs. As the Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Component Lead, you will be responsible for the component’s cost, schedule, and technical performance baseline as well as ensuring the component products integrate together technically for each delivery. In this role, you will also be responsible for the definition, documentation and execution of component level Systems Engineering, Agile and DevOps processes.
What You Will Do
You will be responsible for the component’s baseline, requirements, architecture and design, and integration and test activities.
You will leverage modern Agile / DevOps development practices utilizing an agile framework.
You will be responsible for reporting status and estimates to your Agile team leadership (utilizing robust and easy-to-use tools for reporting status).
You will support small Agile teams in adapting to evolving problem sets.
Work side by side with Integrated Product Team Leads and the Component Leads to successfully manage the teams execution of program specific tasks.
Participate in prime/customer meetings including technical exchange and working group meetings.
Use excellent verbal and written communication skills including negotiation skills to communicate status, issues and resolution plans across all major stakeholders including Raytheon senior management, customers, and major subcontractors.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 10+ years of prior relevant experience.
Active Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a Security Clearance.
Systems Engineering lifecycle experience.
Experience in Space Command & Control, Mission Management systems, and/or Ground Station systems.
Experience with application lifecycle management tools/platforms such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, Cameo EA, and/or similar tools.
Experience with the Engineering lifecycle using Agile concepts and experience in one or more of the following system engineering areas: architecture development, operations concept development, functional analysis, interface definition, or integration, and/or verification & validation.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience in an Agile or DevOps development environment.
Experience in Systems Engineering process development and deployment.
Experience working in an Agile or DevOps development environment, being part of a highly integrated team working closely with Software, Integration and Verification teams.
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationship with all levels of the organization and with the prime and customer and demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
Ability to effectively work and communicate with all levels of program and customer management and individual contributors on the program team.

The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
