The department operates around the clock, touching every neighborhood in San Francisco. Our Human Resources Division is recruiting experienced leaders for the role of Employee and Labor Relations Director (0932 Manager IV). This position is responsible for guiding labor relations, payroll, leaves, and EEO initiatives. Important and Essential Duties: Managing negotiations, grievance processes, investigations of employee complaints, and disciplinary hearings. Planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating employee and labor relations functions. Advising managers on labor relations issues and City policies. Developing positive relationships with labor unions. Partnering with the Department of Human Resources in labor negotiations. Providing training to managers on labor issues. Directing Leave Administration and Performance Management programs. How to qualify
Minimum Qualifications Education:
Baccalaureate Degree in a relevant field. Experience:
Seven (7) years of professional human resources experience, including three (3) years in a supervisory capacity. Desirable Qualifications: Experience with contract negotiations. Experience working with large unions. Experience in public-sector organizations. Verification:
