Job Description

The Associate Director of Operational Excellence (OpEx) is a member of the Project Management and Strategy Office (PMSO) team and is responsible for identifying and leading process improvement project initiatives to increase organizational effectiveness within Commercial Manufacturing and Supply Chain (CMSC). This individual has an established track record of deploying Lean and Six Sigma methods, tools and techniques to lead cross-functional teams by defining and executing continuous improvement activities in Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and general business processes.

This is a Hybrid role in Boston and you would need to be in the office a minimum of 3 days/week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as Subject Matter Expert on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies and practices; develop and deliver training materials, and coach on relevant tools and techniques to advance organizational capabilities in areas such as root cause analysis, and process mapping.

Engage with CMSC departments to define OpEx goals, ensuring appropriate vetting and prioritization to meet corporate objectives.

Provide training, coaching and expertise on top-priority OpEx projects.

Support the development of appropriate business metrics and KPIs for business processes to foster data-driven decision-making and business strategies.

Identify and support the strategic and transformational OpEx activities for CMSC.

Steward selected operational processes and governance teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Robust analytical, lean six-sigma problem-solving and operational execution skills with a high degree of attention to detail and process.

Excellent organization, communication, collaboration, and team-building skills; ability to impactfully present and connect with all levels of the organization.

Strong aptitude for motivating others and building team unity.

Proven ability to effectively manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously on time and on budget.

Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed work environment.

Strong experience and knowledge of principles and practice of GMP’s and associated CMC regulatory considerations in a pharmaceutical environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimally requires 8 years of experience or the equivalent combination of advanced education and experience.

Lean Six Sigma certification (Black belt or equivalent).

Capable of analyzing data, data analytics and visualization tools, such as Minitab, Power BI, Tableau.

Established Project Management skills (PMP certification preferred).
