Job Description
Skidmore College is seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic candidate to join the Technical Services team within the Information Technology Department as Systems Technician. The successful candidate will work with all members of the Technical Services team, under direction of the Director of Infrastructure. Primary duties will include support/maintenance of the card access environment (including point of sale), with additional duties supporting the network and phone systems.
Responsibilities include:Configuring, supporting and maintaining card access hardware and software (40%)Configuring, supporting and maintaining point of sale devices (25%)Configuring, supporting and maintaining wired and wireless networks (25%)Assisting in support of phone system and related hardware/software (10%)Minimum Qualifications:
Associates degree in a related field or 2+ years of experience in a technical positionStrong technical knowledge of computers and peripheralsFamiliarity with wired/wireless networksExcellent communication and documentation skillsAbility to adapt to a dynamic work environmentTime management skills and the ability to multitaskMust be flexible. Occasional after-hours support is requiredPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with data or electrical wiringExperience supporting POS systemsExperience supporting wired/wireless networksExperience with Windows server operating systemsGood written and verbal communication, with an emphasis on customer serviceDocuments required to apply:
