Position Summary

Concordia University Wisconsin seeks applicants for the full-time, exempt position of Traditional Undergraduate Admission Lead Counselor (CUAA Campus). The Lead Counselor will play a vital role in the planning, implementation, and management of all admissions operations on the Ann Arbor campus. This individual will work closely with the Director of Traditional Undergraduate Admission to develop strategies to attract a diverse and talented student body and ensure a seamless admissions process. The successful candidate will have a keen understanding of the higher education landscape, strong leadership skills, and a passion for student success. The role also involves significant collaboration with other university departments and external organizations. This position reports to the Director of Traditional Undergraduate Admission.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership and Strategy:

Develop and implement strategic plans to meet enrollment targets for student recruitment for traditional undergraduate programs on the Ann Arbor campus.

Mentor, develop and continue to offer training to traditional undergraduate admission colleagues, especially on the CUAA campus.

Analyze market trends and admissions data to inform recruitment strategies.

When requested, represent admissions at departmental or campus meetings and on special projects teams, as directed and in the stead of the Director.

Student Recruitment:

Plan and execute recruitment events, such as open houses, information sessions, and webinars. Assist in overseeing the events and fair calendar and webinars.

Maintain relationships with external partners and represent the university at various events and conferences.

Utilize digital and social media platforms for outreach efforts.

Assist the director with creating, editing and purchasing of promotional material (cutsheets, brochures, and other promo items) and website.

Admissions Process Management:

Oversee the application review process, ensuring timely and accurate decision-making.

Ensure compliance with university policies and regulations in all admissions activities.

Collaborate with academic departments, financial aid, and other campus partners to create an integrated admissions experience.

Assist the International Admission team with international student applicants (traditional undergraduate and/or graduate) on the CUAA campus.

May perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Outstanding communication skills - written and oral, especially public speaking.

Exceptional phone, text, and email skills and comfort with a large volume of inbound and outbound calls, emails, and texts.

Understanding current university admission processes and requirements, university programs, majors, courses, developments in education, and financial aid.

Experience with admission CRM software including SLATE and Banner.

Must be capable of managing complex processes, collaborating successfully with a broad range of stakeholders, thinking creatively, and working independently.

Ability to manage the image of academic programs and promote them using a full range of marketing, promotional and social media techniques and strategies.

Knowledge and skill in use of computer and software common to the academic and office setting (Outlook, Excel, Word etc.).

Ability to organize logistical and operational challenges.

Ability to work some weekends and evenings; overnight travel may be required.

Ability to come into the office and attend events representing CUWAA (this is not a fully remote position).

Access to a personal automobile.

Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree is required at minimum. A master's degree or pursuit of is preferred. At least three years of professional work experience in academic admissions, marketing, communications, and/or sales is required. Experience working with diverse populations and event/program management.
