This role will report directly to the Director of Talent Management and will work collaboratively with members of the Talent Management team, the broader HR department, and firm leadership to shape the strategic direction and administer the firm's compensation programs, including annual base compensation and bonus processes, benchmarking, market analysis and monitoring, completion of salary surveys, and compliance with pay transparency legislation. This role will also focus on compensation-related projects, including salary structure design and enhancements, to ensure the firm continues to evolve our compensation programs to attract, motivate, and retain top talent.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLeads the annual base compensation and bonus programs for professional staff, including review and analyses of market data, and annual benchmarking of all firm roles in all domestic offices; oversees the compensation budget and ensures effective allocation of resources.Advises local leadership in the firm's non-U.S. offices with administering base compensation and bonus programs for professional staff.Works with the Director of Talent Management to administer the annual base compensation and bonus programs for associates and alternative-track attorneys, including review and analyses of market trends for firm leadership.Works with Talent Management team members to manage the annual promotion process for professional staff, including review and assessment of requests and compensation recommendations.Partners with Talent Acquisition team on all open professional staff roles by advising on job descriptions, reviewing salary surveys and incumbent information to benchmark positions and provide compensation recommendations.Collaborates with HR managers on all off-cycle promotion and compensation requests.Manages external compensation survey participation and analysis.Oversees the firm's compensation software (CompAnalyst), regularly interfacing with the outside vendor to ensure all data is current and accurate.Partners with Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition on the firm's pay transparency strategies and makes recommendations to ensure compliance.Works with HRIS staff to ensure that the HR system meets compensation needs and is updated to reflect changes to salary structures, bonus programs, etc.Updates and creates documentation for compensation administration and related processes.Prepares spreadsheets and conducts compensation analyses as requested by firm leadership.Advises HR managers and department leaders on compensation-related issues and FLSA reviews.Works closely with the Director of Talent Management, members of the HR department, and firm leaders on a variety of compensation (and compensation adjacent) projects including salary structure design, job analysis, and implementation of effective compensation, performance management, and recognition programs.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree required, CCP certification a plus.7+ years in a HR-related role with at least 4 years of experience in compensation administration required; professional services organization experience a plus.Must reside in a commutable distance to the applicable local office.ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONSExperience with compensation program design and implementation.Expertise in Excel, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables and formulas.Experience conducting FLSA reviews and job analysis.Experience working with HRIS systems, preferably UltiPro.Experience with compensation software programs a plus.COMPETENCIESHigh level of attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to develop and implement change initiatives and strategies that align with Firm goals and objectives.Ability to collaborate and interact with all levels of personnel with a client-service-driven mindset.Ability to listen to others' ideas and incorporate different points of view to put forth optimal proposals and solutions.High level of integrity with ability to protect and maintain highly confidential information.Demonstrates excellent judgement and personal accountability.Effective prioritization and time management skills.Ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed.BENEFITSWinston offers comprehensive benefits that provide a full spectrum of coverage and support for our full-time employees and their families. here .SALARYNew York based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $130,000- $140,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, market data and internal equity. Total compensation includes a comprehensive healthcare benefits package, yearly retirement contribution, and may include an annual discretionary merit bonus.We value diversity in the workplace.
