As we continue to grow, we invite passionate professionals to join us in shaping the future of child safety products.Job SummaryAs a Senior Product Engineer in the Research and Development (R&D) team, you will be instrumental in the creation and launch of car seats and juvenile products. You will oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation and design through to tooling, validation, and production. This role demands a collaborative spirit, working closely with cross-functional teams across product management, marketing, design, sales, and quality assurance. You will also liaise with overseas factories and suppliers to ensure that products are safe, efficient, and cost-effective. Expect domestic and international travel as part of your responsibilities.Responsibilities and DutiesDesign Engineering:
Collaborate with industrial designers to ensure safety, performance, and manufacturability.Create CAD models for parts and assemblies, optimizing designs with CAE software.Work with suppliers to refine designs for improved manufacturing efficiency.Leverage rapid prototyping to create and evaluate product prototypes.Product Engineering:
Partner with marketing, design, usability, quality, and manufacturing teams to align product objectives with business needs.Conduct cost analyses and contribute to capital expenditure planning.Ensure product compliance with federal and industry standards for safety and performance.Assist with tooling development and manage pre-production sample builds.Product Validation:
Develop and support validation test plans, including pre-production crash testing.Analyze test results, making design modifications to enhance product performance.Use tools to build and modify prototypes for evaluation and testing purposes.Qualifications and SkillsRequired:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.10+ years of experience in product development or design engineering.Expertise in problem-solving and innovative product development.Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including static and dynamic analysis, deformable body mechanics, and mechanism design.Hands-on experience with hand and power tools for prototype building and modification.Preferred:
