Opportunity
Theprimary responsibility of the Sr. Project Engineer – Kitchen Faucets role is todeliver innovative consumer products as part of a highly collaborativecross-functional team. The Engineer must combine creativity, strong technicalskills, collaborative leadership, and business acumen to take designs frominitial concept through to production.
Weare looking for someone who:

  •  Brings a positive approach and collaborates with cross functional teams including marketing, program management, industrial design, and manufacturing operations to deliver projects on time, within budget.
  • Is passionate about innovation and independently motivated to explore concepts and build transformative products.
  • Has demonstrated skill in ideation and creative design. Candidates with strong interest in CAD design and advanced prototyping are preferred.
  • Exhibits strong mechanical aptitude and has established individual engineering design process.
  • Understands manufacturing constraints for a broad range materials and process including: casting, forging, stamping, injection molding, welding, machining, fabricating, tube bending, hydroforming, plating, etc.
  • Is confident evaluating complex designs and leverages creative problem solving skills to continually optimize.
  • Can competently coordinate work across regions and cultures as part of a global engineering organization.

SpecificResponsibilities
Create

  • Partner with Industrial Design and Product Marketing to develop product specifications using consumer research, market data, and sales feedback.
  • Study competitive products and understand current warranty metrics to benchmark against new product designs.
  • Provide high-level feasibility analysis on initial product concepts.

Refine

  • Develop and refine concepts using 3D modeling software (Creo), FEA, and CFD.
  • Leverage our world class on-site prototyping and test lab capabilities to create physical prototypes to validate product features.
  • Validate product value through consumer and/or human experience research.
  • Work with our internal manufacturing team as well as suppliers to balance cost, performance, quality, and project timing.

Implement

  • Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stacks, and develop detailed technical drawings, incorporating engineering standards and GD&T.
  • Optimize design using DfM (Design for Manufacturing) principles to ensure reliable, stable, and efficient mass production.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance through careful product verification test planning.
  • Support manufacturing ramp up by providing on-site feedback during pre-production builds.

Skills/Requirements

  • Bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • Minimum of 6 years of mechanical engineering experience.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of CAD modeling.
  • International and domestic travel as needed.
