Job Details

The Commercial Lines Account Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of commercial insurance accounts, providing day-to-day client support, and ensuring the efficient handling of all policy-related matters. This role involves working closely with clients, insurance carriers, and internal teams to maintain and grow client relationships, as well as delivering outstanding service by addressing coverage needs, answering questions, and managing renewals and claims.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial clients, providing prompt, professional support.
  • Proactively manage client accounts by addressing coverage needs, responding to inquiries, and resolving any issues.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to foster trust and long-term partnerships.

Policy Management:

  • Manage all aspects of the policy lifecycle, including renewals, endorsements, and cancellations.
  • Conduct regular reviews of clients' insurance portfolios to ensure adequate coverage and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare proposals, quotes, and coverage summaries for clients, ensuring that they understand their policy options and recommendations.

Risk Assessment and Coverage Analysis:

  • Work with clients to assess risks and develop appropriate insurance solutions tailored to their specific business needs.
  • Review and analyze policy terms and conditions to ensure that coverage aligns with the client’s risk profile.
  • Advise clients on risk management strategies and recommend additional coverage options when necessary.

Renewals and Marketing:

  • Lead the renewal process by reviewing expiring policies, negotiating terms with carriers, and presenting renewal options to clients.
  • Collaborate with insurance carriers to secure the best pricing, coverage terms, and conditions for clients.
  • Market accounts to different carriers when necessary to find competitive solutions that meet client needs.

Claims Support:

  • Assist clients with the claims process, acting as their advocate in negotiations with insurance carriers.
  • Provide timely updates to clients on claims status and help resolve any issues or disputes.
  • Work with adjusters, clients, and carriers to ensure fair and efficient claim outcomes.

Client and Carrier Communication:

  • Act as a liaison between clients and insurance carriers, communicating policy changes, endorsements, and other updates.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of client interactions and policy details in the agency management system.
  • Keep clients informed of relevant industry changes, trends, and new product offerings.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with producers, underwriters, and other internal team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior account managers or support staff as needed.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations alongside producers to provide technical expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in commercial lines insurance, specifically Property & Casualty.
  • Active P&C Insurance License required.
  • Experience working in an independent insurance brokerage is required.
  • Experience managing a book of business valued at $300K+.
  • Additional designation is ideal.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, markets, and industry regulations.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client accounts and priorities.
  • Proficiency in agency management systems (e.g., AMS360, Applied Epic) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
