Job Details:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Engineering to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in the strategic direction, development, and future growth of our company. The Director of Engineering will provide leadership and expertise to our engineering team, ensuring the delivery of top-quality, timely, and cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in both design and development, with a proven track record of leading high-performing engineering teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of how to balance and meet the needs of customers with the realities and challenges of software development. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Strategy: Direct and mentor a team of engineering professionals to achieve departmental and organizational objectives. Develop and implement engineering strategies aligned with the company's goals and industry trends.
  • Product Development: Oversee the design, development, and enhancement of energy solutions including material handling, airport ground support, and stationary energy storage
  • Innovation: Drive innovation in product design and manufacturing processes to enhance performance, efficiency, and sustainability. Lead efforts in integrating new technologies and methodologies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as Operations, R&D, and Quality Assurance to ensure seamless project execution and product integration.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all engineering practices comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality benchmarks. Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports.
  • Budget and Resources Management: Manage engineering budgets, allocate resources effectively, and oversee project timelines and deliverables.
  • Manage a team of 15+ people.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field-ideally electrical); Master’s degree or higher is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in the manufacturing sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Extensive experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts, AGVs, and AMRs is preferred.
  • Lean 6 Sigma certification highly preferred

Skills:

  • Expertise in energy solutions and material handling technologies.
  • Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles, product development processes, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to drive innovation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
