Job Details:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in the Sales industry. This is a permanent, hybrid position that offers the flexibility of working from home while also spending time in the office. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of general ledger accounting and will be responsible for executing a variety of financial procedures, including month-end and year-end closings, accounts payable and receivable, tax returns, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries. This role will report directly to the Finance Director and will work closely with other members of the finance team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial data.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
  • Summarize financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other reports.
  • Maintain general ledger by transferring subsidiary accounts, preparing a trial balance, and reconciling entries.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure timely and accurate payment processing and revenue collection.
  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that the company is in compliance with all financial regulations and procedures.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits by working with external auditors.
  • Assist with the preparation of budget forecasts and financial planning.
  • Conduct regular ledger maintenance and reconciliation activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the Sales industry.
  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, specifically Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with year-end closing processes, fixed assets, depreciation, accruals, and general ledger clean-up is a must.
