Job Details

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Tax Manager to join our team in Michigan. The Tax Manager will oversee and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our diverse client base. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive tax knowledge, and the ability to provide strategic tax planning and advisory services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing tax compliance, preparing tax returns, and providing innovative tax solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the tax practice, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
  • Develop and implement effective tax strategies and planning to optimize clients’ tax positions.
  • Provide expert tax advisory services and build long-term relationships with clients by understanding their unique needs.
  • Conduct thorough tax research and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, fostering professional growth and development within the team.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure cohesive and comprehensive service delivery to clients.
  • Represent the firm in professional and community events to enhance the firm’s reputation and expand its client base.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
