As an IT Network Solution Architect at Micron, you will be involved in a fast-paced challenging environment. Support and improve reliability and security of Micron's data communications systems, focusing on Corporate LAN/WAN/Wireless. Develop and automate solutions as needed. Micron Network Solution Architects specialize in LAN/WAN, data center, and wireless solutions as well as software to manage, monitor and solve these solutions. You will regularly work with Micron’s Business Units to ensure solutions meet or exceed business requirements. You will be expected to suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize environmental complexity and ensure regulatory as well as license compliance. Being part of a global team and actively and constructively participating is crucial. It is vital for the success of this position to effectively communicate these standards, proven methods, and solutions to the global network team.
Responsibilities
Plan, design, implementationand analysis of global network solutions (wired and wireless)
Research new equipment based on business requirements as well as hardware lifecycle based on the IT Roadmap
Minimize the cost of solutions to fit within budget constraints
Analyze, compare, test, and determine the cost/return on investment of implementing new technology or services
Participate in the IT projects
Resolve, recommend, and coordinate needed physical or virtualized equipment (routers, circuits, wireless controllers, switches, servers, etc.)
Building automation and AI into solutions where possible and to improve speed and reliability of service
Interact and maintain relationships with vendors, service providers, and internal business units for integration of services and systems
Seamlessly integrate new solutionsintoexisting network solutions enterprise wide
Coordinate and facilitate the integration and support for new equipment
Optimize the performance of new equipment
Determine equipment life cyclerequirements
Collaborate with the global network teams to integrate Micron standards and proven methods into network builds at local sites.
Document processes and procedures
Identifyinnovative ways to continually improve the user experience
Collaborate with the IT Security teamsupporting perimeter security solution design, implementation, and support
Interact with the Architecture team supporting high level network and network security reference architecture design and artifacts required.
Collaborate with leadership in the development of technology and strategic roadmaps.
Support skill development of team members.
Serve as a point of contact for global operational network teams facing blocking issues
Innovate!
Ability to travel – Domestic and International as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Computer Science with emphasis on Networking
Information Technology or related field of study
10+ years’ experience in the following:
Wireless LAN Networks and WAN/LAN technologies
Cisco solutions
Arista solutions (VXLAN) and Cloud Vision
Application of QOS to support Voice and Video
Knowledge of Network monitoring and management solutions
IP address management, routing management, subnet assignment, VLAN management
Experience with EIGRP, BGP, and DMVPN
Experience with scriptingfor automation
IPAM - DNS management
Network access control technologies
Knowledge of perimeter security solutions
Automation
QOS to support Voice and Video
Ability to deep dive on packet analysis
Proficiency in leading efforts to fix sophisticated issues
