Tax Associate Attorney

A law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a law firm environment or accounting firm and possess strong drafting, research, and writing skills. While candidates with an LL.M. in Tax are preferred, those with a J.D. and a demonstrated interest in tax planning and business transactional-related work will also be considered. Admission to practice law in Texas is required.Duties:Provide legal counsel and support on a wide range of tax matters.Conduct legal research and analysis on complex tax issues.Draft and review tax-related documents, including agreements, contracts, and opinions.Assist clients with tax planning strategies and compliance.Analyze tax implications of business transactions and advise clients accordingly.Represent clients in tax disputes and audits with tax authorities.Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.Collaborate with other attorneys, accountants, and professionals to develop comprehensive tax solutions.Manage client relationships and ensure timely and effective communication.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to practice law in Texas.4+ years of experience in tax law.Prior experience in a law firm environment or accounting firm.LL.M. in Tax is preferred, but candidates with a J.D. and demonstrated interest in tax planning will also be considered.Strong drafting, research, and writing skills.Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.Education and Certifications:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to practice law in Texas.LL.M. in Tax (preferred).Skills:Excellent drafting, research, and writing skills.Analytical and problem-solving abilities.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in tax software and legal research tools.Client-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal services.
